Dr Kuthubutheen has completed a 2 and a half year post FRACS Fellowship in Otology and Skull Base Surgery at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre and the University of Toronto, Canada. Sunnybrook is the largest cochlear implant, ear and skull base surgery centre in Canada and one of the largest in North America. He also has a PhD in Cochlear Implantation from the University of Western Australia

Dr Kuthubutheen is committed to serving both his public and private patients. He has Consultant appointments at two public hospitals and is the ENT Clinical Lead for the Kimberley Region. He is the Fellowship Director for the Otology and Skull Base Surgery program at SCGH for aspiring local and international Ear Surgeons.
